What is the Aon Church Event - User Group Insurance Program?

Aon’s Church Event - User Group insurance Program is designed to provide broad protection for situations in which an event holder must defend itself against lawsuits or pay damages for bodily injury or property damage to third parties. This policy also gives protection to the church adding them to the policy as additional insureds. Examples, such as a slip & fall or damaged floors are covered by his type of policy. Exclusions do apply – please refer to the policy wordings for a full list of conditions.

What types of events are covered?

Both private and public events, including receptions, room rentals and recitals. Events will be selected during the online application process. If the event is not listed you can contact us by email at church.certs@aon.ca

What is an event holder?

The person, group or organization responsible for the organization and promotion of the special event – typically the signer of the facility rental agreement.

We offer General Liability, which includes bodily injury and property damage to third parties. Coverage also includes Voluntary Medical Payments, Tenants’ Legal Liability and Personal & Advertising Injury.

Where can I find the pre-approved rates associated with Aon’s Church Event -User Group Insurance Program?

Preapproved rates can be found under the "Program Description" section contained within the website.
An Insurance Administration Fee of $10.00 (plus applicable HST) will apply in addition to the above noted rates. The Insurance Administration Fee (and applicable taxes) is non-refundable.

How do I purchase a User Group Liability Insurance policy?

To purchase a policy simply click on the Apply for Coverage link or "click here" to get started. Confirm which church you are renting facilities through and then enter the event details by going through our easy step-by-step process. You will then receive a quote within minutes. You may purchase and bind online, at which time you will receive a Certificate of Insurance confirming your coverage details.

Does the policy coverage alcohol-related accidents?

In the event the church you are renting facilities through allows alcohol to be served when utilizing their venue, your policy can be extended to include Liquor Liability to protect against alcohol-related accidents. Coverage only applies if this option has been specifically purchased for an additional premium.

What is liquor liability? Do I need it?

Liquor liability is an option you can purchase if you serve or sell alcohol sales at your event. This type of insurance provides coverage for bodily injury or property damage for which you may be held liable. Liability may arise from causing or contributing to the intoxication of any person; violating any statute, ordinance, or regulation relating to the sale, gift, distribution, or use of alcoholic beverages.

How far in advance must I purchase Aon’s Church Event -User Group Insurance Program insurance for my events to be covered?

Coverage must be purchased at least 24 hours before the start of your event.

When you purchase an online policy, you will be immediately prompted to print or save your documents. You will also receive an email copy of your policy in PDF format.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Premiums are fully earned and must be paid in full. Refunds or cancellations are not permitted after the effective date of coverage.

  • In the event you need to cancel your insurance coverage placed through Aon’s Event Insure – User Group Insurance Program, as long as you have requested cancellation of coverage in advance of your coverage effective date (the date you first require coverage to be in effect), we would be more than happy to provide a full premium refund*
  • *Note that the $10.00 Insurance Administration Fee and applicable tax is non-refundable.
